My Digital Footprint in the Internet

Below is how my digital footprint in the internet looks. This is generated by a cool experimental DailyPerfect Facebook application that we did at DailyPerfect. I like to have the “Dark energy” under my heel… :P

My digital footprint

What DailyPerfect basically does, is that it crawls information about you from the internet, just based on your full name, and compiles a profile of your potential interests. This footprint image draws that profile by showing your stronger predicted interests larger, and probably lesser important interests smaller.

You can create your own digital footprint image at the DailyPerfect Facebook application, and copy the code snippet to insert it to your web/blog/wherever.

  1. That’s really interesting. I manually track my footprint in terms of scattered profiles:

… but it is also interesting how the privacy-nuts believe you can achieve /no/ footprint, while for normal net usage you at best (worst?) can only have a small, poorly representative footprint. Mine is large and representative of me :-)

Yeah, these have been fun to observe… I have got also couple of times questions on “where did you discover this or that?” while exhaustive answer has been just a link to search engine result page on the person’s name combined with the information bit in question. There are of course more complex deduction chains than that also, but it is still the information on the internet.
