As my blog is prowdly powered by WordPress (the non-MU version), I went through setting (the MU version of) it up onto my Vista desktop computer, to be able to try out things with it more closely. More than once things went tricky and I took some notes at those points, just in case for potential future reference. I decided to make these notes part of the global Internet noise. The result is below, starting from setting up Apache and ending with some last WordPress MU configuration option cleanup.

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009No Good Tool to Post from Mobile
Monday, February 23rd, 2009Didn’t find any decent WordPress plugin for posting from mobile over internet connection.
Looked also for a workaround. Hoped to use some standalone moblogging site and sync the WordPress blog with the moblog with a dedicated plugin (like the twitter plugin here, but applicable to any generic RSS feed). Stuck again. No easy to click plugin.
Developers, any takers?

Another Blog Based Homepage
Sunday, February 22nd, 2009Wow, I browsed the web, figuring out all kind of new and cool wonders of the web, and I somehow ended up setting up a blog of myself. Based on WordPress. Can’t believe it. And it works.
Coolness factors added by the WordPress:
- Populated my blog with tweets, using Twitter Tools plugin (available via built-in plugin search’n'install channel).
- Press This bookmarklet button — hit it to take a quick blog note about the web page you are currently on
- Google Gears support — make your site use intelligently cached data on your desktop computer instead of flying it over the internet each time you visit a page on your site.
Ok. Who knows, pershaps there will be some more non-tweet additions to this post in the future.
